Because I liked her

Because I liked her

I filled myself with hope

set up lamps in my dark cell

I learnt etiquettes and poetry and guitar

Because I liked her

I dreamt of impossibilities made possible

I dreamt movie scenes

and dancing in castles so majestic

whilst I slept with memories decrepit

Because I liked her

I sailed on a river of dreams 

but I ended on an estuary

that led to the sea of reality 

The waves sneered and crushed 

with memories of the past

It drained me of my hopeless hope

and stained me the colour of the sea
